Arabia Fashion Week

Dubai which is known as the Middle East capital of fashion attracts lots of regional and international designers and provides them a platform to showcase their talent. Arabia Fashion Week is one of the biggest fashion shows in Middle East region that is held in Dubai. The fashion week featured 22 leading local and international designers who showcased their latest creations. Many designers made their debut through this prestigious event. Fashion lovers were given an opportunity to witness the finest collection of designers from various countries such as UAE, Germany, Poland, Spain, Pakistan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and India. The show was held at the Palladium in Dubai Media City and features many new designers who got an opportunity to show their design talent through this brand new event.

Amina Al-Jassim

Amina Al-JassimAmina Al-Jassim is a Saudi Arabian fashion designer of jalabiyas and wedding dresses. She transforms the beautiful traditional Saudi attire into ready-to-wear clothes.  She studied computer science and business administration at Ball State University in the US. She learned about fashion by reading books on fashion and techniques that are involved in designing. Her passion and liking for fashion made her start designing jalabiyas for friends. After getting married she started her fashion business by opening her own boutique, Dar Breesam in Alkhobar.

She has participated in many shows in different countries and has held exhibition in Spain, Lebanon and various other countries in the Gulf region. She showcased her collection during the Muscat Fashion Week 2011. Her designs are focused on Arab culture and aimed to enhance the looks of Arabian women.

Amal Murad

Amal MuradAmal Murad, a leading fashion designer from Dubai had a sense of style and fashion from very young age. She pursued her degree from UAE university and regularly attended the fashion seminar class premiere’ that is held in Paris. Amal Murad created her first Abaya collection, REDAA in 2005. REDAA has become a leading brand for abaya’s in the world and makes traditional abaya’s look elegant and trendy.

REDAA abaya’s can be worn for all occasions and are very popular among many Middle East women.Inspired by various designers such as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, Amal Murad has transformed the traditional black abaya into a fashionable garment with the addition of colorful fabrics and designs. For the first time, she exhibited her collection at The Bridal Show in Abu Dhabi in 2006.
