Bahrain Fashion Week
Bahrain Fashion Week has established itself as a widely recognized event where regional and international designers get an opportunity to showcase their best designs. The main objective of the event is to establish Bahrain on the global fashion market and develop the fashion industry of the country. It aims at delivering multinational fashion experience for its regional designers.
After the success of Bahrain Fashion Week 2009 which saw the participation of designers from various countries such as Ukraine, India, Netherlands and Pakistan, Bahrain Fashion Week become well-known and reputable event for many local and global designers. Bahrain Fashion Week 2010 consisted of many designers from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, London and other countries.
The event held from 17th to 19th November opened with designs of Bahrain designer Noora Abdulghani. Other designers who showcased their collection in Bahrain Fashion Week 2010 included Kalid Swaid, Rasha Al Mosawi, Mehwish Mohammed, Ruth Samaai and many others. Also participating was Fashion-aires London which is a UK based fashion and lifestyle brand.
In 2010, Bahrain Fashion Week added Fashion and Lifestyle show that was aimed at promoting new designers and entrepreneurs in the field of fashion, beauty products and accessories. Continuing with the tradition of encouraging local designers, Bahrain Fashion Week 2010 organized ‘Emerging Fashion show’ for young aspiring designers in the local fashion market. The show provided a platform for five young designers to showcase their designs in the main event and the winners of ‘Emerging designer of the year 2010’ award were Ali Salah and Haya Turki.
The 3 day event held at the Bahrain Exhibition Centre was organized by Lotus Pi group and featured many top international models. Bahrain Fashion Week 2010 has helped develop the market for fashion in Bahrain and its neighbors Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Bahrain Fashion Week has provided the platform for Middle Eastern to discover their abilities and make success of their creative talents through an international platform.
