Amina Al-Jassim
Amina Al-Jassim is a Saudi Arabian fashion designer of jalabiyas and wedding dresses. She transforms the beautiful traditional Saudi attire into ready-to-wear clothes. She studied computer science and business administration at Ball State University in the US. She learned about fashion by reading books on fashion and techniques that are involved in designing. Her passion and liking for fashion made her start designing jalabiyas for friends. After getting married she started her fashion business by opening her own boutique, Dar Breesam in Alkhobar.
She has participated in many shows in different countries and has held exhibition in Spain, Lebanon and various other countries in the Gulf region. She showcased her collection during the Muscat Fashion Week 2011. Her designs are focused on Arab culture and aimed to enhance the looks of Arabian women.
She showcased her collection in third edition of Sheila and Abaya Fashion 2008 and her collections for wedding gowns were shown in Wedding Fair 2009 in Beirut. She also participated in Lux Fashion World in Beirut where she dazzling abaya’s especially for Muslim women were shown. Her designs are comfortable and easy to wear.
She was also one of the five Arab designers whose designs featured in the first ever all Arab fashion event, the Arabian Fashion World held in Europe in 2009.
Amina Al-Jassim aims to provide ready-to-wear attire to Muslim women and has become a leading fashion designer in Middle East. Her designs provide a glamorous look while still maintaining the cultural level.
